This position is located in the Quality Production & Logistics Branch, Code 8554. Code 8554, The Quality, Producion, and Logistics Branch maintains and enhances the core expertise to acquire and provide torpedo enterprise war fighters with the most reliable, supportable, and maintainable torpedoes in the world. Further, it is the responsibility of this branch to ensure that the product remains producible and that the life cycle sustainment aspects of torpedo hardware have been established and provided for. This is accomplished by taking a system engineering approach to weapon life cycle support across the areas of Production/Acquisition Engineering, Configuration Management, Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), Quality Assurance (QA), and DoD Demilitarization (DEMIL).
|Background in any/all of the following is preferred:|| |
Development of technical requirement documentation and specifications. Knowledge of system engineering practices, including,but not limited, to NUWC DIV Newport practices. Knowledge of acquisition engineering activities for Naval, Department of Defense or weapon systems (torpedo systems desirable). Knowledge of Division Newport contracting processes and procedures. Ability to work effectively with government and contractor personnel.
