Job Description

FIRE WARDEN (Ref. #1815-AG)

Conduct monthly Fire Warden Inspections of NUWCDIVKPT buildings, NUWCDIVKPT Annex at Bangor, and Zelatched Point.

Coordinate with Building Officers or Space Custodians for escorted access to secure rooms and other restricted areas.  Test and inspect equipment for proper operation, safety codes and standards.

Record deficiencies and root cause information into a government system.  Validate/verify and required corrective actions.

Conduct 38 monthly automated external defibrillator (AED) inspections in 31 buildings/locations at NUWC Keyport, will occur concurrently with monthly fire inspections.

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior military or civilian Fire Warden and/or Safety experience.
  • Physically able to carry up to 45 pounds and ability to walk for long periods of time
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
