GIS ANALYST (Ref. #1900-ES)

McLaughlin Research Corporation seeks an On-call GIS Analyst at our NUWC-Newport, RI. A Summer Internship position exists at a DoD installation in Rhode Island. Successful candidate will provide technical assistance for GIS data development and automation. Intern should expect to heavily involved in ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS for Portal management and development as well as be able to multitask an array of ad-hoc static mapping projects. The position requires close interaction with a staff of engineers, biologists and environmental planners, as such background in geospatial and location-based technologies, environmental science, oceanography, or marine biology is desired.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Experience with ESRI ArcGIS 10.3 or greater; geo-spatial data analysis and processing; data management and organization. Individual must have an eagerness to learn new skills and be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience with the following software packages is helpful: Windows 2010, Microsoft Office Suite, Python, MathWorks MATLAB, R.
