MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Ref. #1829-RS)

Description

Immediate opening for Mechanical Engineer in support of Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC).  The successful candidate will work as a member of the Torpedo Product Engineering team to provide technical support to a variety of Naval programs. Primary responsibilities include mechanical system analysis, 3D modeling of mechanical components and assemblies, preparation of engineering change packages, and performing stress analysis calculations.  Additional duties will include finite element analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and generation and review of engineering documentation packages (drawings, analyses technical manuals and specifications) for completeness and accuracy. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance is required.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer
  • ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • proficient in 3D design using Solid Works
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • current active secret clearance
  • experience in working with the DOD as an engineer
  • knowledge of Tomahawk Missile Launching Systems
  • certification in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
