Job Description

Successful applicant must possess skills & abilities necessary to support a full range of tasks. A high degree of mechanical/electrical aptitude is required. Tasks include refurbishment and end-to-end testing of hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and subassemblies, maintenance repair, and testing of complex electro-mechanical components. The applicant must be eligible for a security clearance up to and including the Secret level. Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and via written communications. The applicant should possess a basic knowledge of supply chain logistics.  Computer skills are a plus, as is knowledge of military protocol and familiarity with Torpedo submarine launching systems. Minimum of three (10) years of experience.

Background in any/all of the following is preferred:

Required Qualifications:

  • Capability to read and understand hydraulic diagrams / trim & drain diagrams / wiring schematics and wiring tables.
  • Understanding of software qualification testing.
  • Understanding of electronic control systems used in operating mechanical systems (requirements / inputs / testing)
  • Knowledge of APLs / NSN / sparing, NAVY Logistics
  • Knowledge of NAVY PMS (MIPs¬† / MRCs) and be able to obtain the ability to update / modify / generate new and existing MRCs.
  • Understanding of weight handling equipment (WHE) and the NAVY requirements for maintaining WHE.
  • Ability to accomplished detailed inspect and perform certification weight test of applicable weight handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform maintenance of specialized handling gear both on submarine hull and in the laboratory environment.
  • Ability to coordinate a multi discipline team effort for TEMPALT installation / and un-install.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current active Secret clearance
  • Detailed experience in all areas of SEAWOLF Class and 688 Class weapons loading and handling.
  • Detailed knowledge of SEAWOLF and 688 Class torpedo tube operation.

U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance required; current clearance a plus.
