Personnel Assistant (Ref. #1792) (DR)

MRC has two immediate openings for a full time Personnel Assistant to support the Training Office at NUWC Division Newport. The qualified candidate is responsible for processing all training requests using Total Workforce Management System (TWMS). Duties include:

  • Working with outside vendors to register employees for training and assisting the Training Coordinator with training requirements.
  • Analyze data and create reports from the online training survey. Provide NUWC employees with TWMS and Individual Development Plans (IDP) in TWMS support.
  • Coordinate and lead the New Employee Orientation; contacting department POCS to schedule orientation, tracking attendance and crediting new hires for attending training.
  • Track data for the Chief Learning Officer.
  • Serve as the POC for Education Duty Time; monitoring Network Activity Number (NWA) usage and employee eligibility.
  • Provide general administrative assistance and customer service in the Workforces Development & Information Systems Branch in the Human Resources Department.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience in U.S. Navy programs or operations.
