Personnel Assistant (Ref. #1795) (DR)

MRC has an immediate opening for a full time Personnel Assistant in the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Department assists Pathways/Naval Acquisition Program (NADP) Program Manager in the management of the Pathways (formerly Student Career Development Program (SCEP)), Secretarial Cooperative (CO-OP) and the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP) Navy Intern Programs.


The qualified candidate will be responsible for:


  • Scheduling meetings, tracking, maintaining and managing electronic and paper files, spreadsheet updates, projects, data call actions, correspondence distribution, and requests.
  • Will serve as a liaison between Pathways Program/NADP Program Manager and students who need to obtain required information.  Scheduling and providing general guidance as needed, interface with HR Specialists, Human Resources (HR) Assistants for Pathways Program/NADP Program and new employee onboarding support.
  • Sending correspondence, forms, information to NUWC Division Newport managers and NADP managers.
  • Handling proprietary data, such as personnel and sensitive data.
  • Assisting the Recruitment Lead and team with various recruitment tasking, such as tracking, creation of recruitment flyers, and materials needed for upcoming announcements and fairs.
  • Preparing reports by collecting data and analyzing information.
  • Utilizing the following software programs:  MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, SharePoint, and Navy-based systems used: USA Staffing, Material Management Tracking System, Civilian Human Resources System (Onboarding Manager), and Recruitment System.
