A Value-Driven Company with a Lasting Sense of Family

Employee Activities and Extracurricular Events

To promote a happy and healthy company culture here at MRC, we offer several activities for our staff to enjoy and stay active. These include:

MRC Running Team

If you enjoy running, our running team participates in two fund raising activities each year: The St. Pat’s 5K-Providence and the Annual CVS Health Downtown 5k & Youth Race. This will be the 10th year that our team entered the St. Pat’s 5K Providence.

MRC Hockey Team

Employees can also join our “hockey team,” which gets together to skate every Friday during the winter at St. George’s, followed by meetings on Sunday or Monday nights. No tryouts are required to join, and the season starts in October. The team consists of a combination of MRC and Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport employees.

MRC Golf League

Golf Anyone? The MRC golf league meets every Friday evening during golf season at the Jamestown Golf Course in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Meetings start at 4 PM. Friends and family of MRC staff are also encouraged to join.

MRC Recreation Committee Sponsored Events

The MRC recreation committee is made up of MRC staff who work over the course of the year to raise funds and organize different activities available to both MRC employees and their families. Events include Boston Red Sox baseball games for which employees can win tickets, summer cookouts and family days for each office, and discounts on both local and in-house events.

Employee Appreciation Events

To make sure our employees feel rewarded for the great work they do for both us and our customers, we recognize employees at various employee appreciation events. Events take place at both East and West coast offices to thank our employees for years of great service. All MRC employees are welcome to attend.

Community Outreach

Employees at MRC also collaborate with each other every year to give back to their local communities by lending their time, energy, talent, and financial donations to certain organizations. For example, MRC hosts a United Way pledge drive that enables employees to make one-time donations or contribute a weekly donation that’s deducted from their payroll. We also organize local food and clothing drives throughout the holidays to provide for those less fortunate in the community. For employees interested in combining sport with technology and science, there’s also the FIRST® Robotics Competition, for which MRC sponsors local teams in Keyport, WA.

The MRC golf league meets every Friday evening during golf season at the Jamestown Golf Course in Jamestown, Rhode Island. Meetings start at 4 PM. Players enjoy games played in a hybrid stableford-type format, which entails bogeys or better earning points while anything worse than doubles loses points. Players are invited whether they play with a 9-hole handicap or no handicap. The player who earns the most points by the end of the year is also crowned the year’s champion and gets to see his or her name permanently placed on the MRC Golf League Trophy. Friends and family of MRC staff are also encouraged to join.
