How I came to be an MRC employee:
George Maris (Program Manager) attended a Virtual Career Fair at BCC in April of 2021. He was willing to help me construct a resume for the engineering field despite not having an opening in my desired field. Because of his personal integrity, I moved MRC to the top of my ideal work environments. I was excited to hear from George regarding a position in my desired field and quickly accepted.

What I like best about working at MRC:
I appreciate that everyone is genuinely invested in your well-being and advancement. This is such a kind, genuinely caring environment and I am so thankful to be given an opportunity to prove myself.

How my work contributes to the overall mission of the Navy:
As the NUWC Newport base Archibus admin, I am using this program to help the Navy with work space management. With this comes personnel reports, space planning, and more as we explore possibilities of adding additional Archibus modules such as maintenance, asset lifecycle management, etc.

Pivotal career moments/experiences:
The pandemic helped motivate me to return to school for my dream career instead of just making ends meet.

Hobbies/Personal interests:
I enjoy reading fantasy or sci-fi books and playing video games. My favorite games involve building houses, managing towns, farms, taverns, space stations, etc. so it feels great to do what I love at work and at home. I also enjoy decorating and buying crafting supplies that I will likely never use.

Career advice:
Develop a growth mindset in everything that you do: there is always an opportunity to learn new things. Take care of yourself too.
