How I came to be an MRC employee:
I have always respected the mission of the Navy, and I am intrigued by the marine environment and environmental compliance. In spring 2022, I saw that there was a job opening at MRC that perfectly aligned with all of my interests. I was quick to apply.

What I like best about working at MRC:
The collaborative environment at MRC has allowed me to professionally grow. Colleagues who have been here for multiple years are open to discussion and sharing advice on how to complete tasks. This collaboration has allowed me to easily transition into my new job.

How my work contributes to the overall mission of the Navy:
The Navy conducts training and testing (military readiness) activities in the marine environment. I contribute to the environmental compliance documents, helping ensure these readiness activities comply with federal and state environmental laws.

Pivotal career moments/experiences:
A pivotal career moment was obtaining my PhD, which has opened many opportunities for me career wise.

Hobbies/Personal interests:
Kayaking, skiing, hiking, and family time

Career advice:
Do not be afraid to ask questions and talk to colleagues about how they would go about a task. Every task is a learning experience, and others may open up your eyes to a new way of approaching something that you have not thought of before.
