How I came to be an MRC employee
I have many fond childhood memories of “Bring a Child to Work Day” at NUWC Newport with my dad, a hard-working Department of Defense employee. Even at that young age, I was always proud of and inspired by the significance of his work. Then, when the opportunity arose to work in the defense industry and follow in his footsteps years later, I applied. Fortunately, MRC saw potential in that young professional with limited experience! Today, I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences I’ve had throughout my career here, which have helped me grow personally and professionally.

What I like best about working at MRC
The people!

How my work contributes to the overall mission of the Navy
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career is knowing I am making a difference every day. My efforts support some of the smartest people in the world; my role allows them to focus on doing what only they can do—for our Navy and for our country.

Pivotal career moments/experiences
Transitioning from my original administrative support role (that I loved!) into increasingly technical and programmatic positions has been both rewarding and challenging.

Hobbies/personal interests
Music, baking, yoga, competitive sailing, travel.

Career advice
Work with dedication, respect, and integrity; stay focused on the mission; and always seek to learn from those around you.
